I picked up a copy of Eve’s  Times from Spencer Daily outlet near my home and was amazed to see the quality of the ‘paper.’ The colour, design, print and content were different and truly very impressive. I was not aware that such a publication has been coming out from the city of Chennai for a long time. I congratulate the publishers and would like to suggest a few things. Firstly, the variety and spread of content are very good. I feel they should include more topics like investments, stock market, real estate etc if they should get more men readers. Your section on business etiquette and career are very good. You should include more such articles. It would not be a bad idea to increase the number of pages. Legal issues and some more personality profiles will complete your image as a publication that seems to feature southern culture more. Keep it up!

I have been reading Vasundhra’s beauty column regularly and keep cuttings of her serial. Her serial is very good and suits our hot and humid climate. Not only that, her tips are natural and we feel comfortable to adopt her counsel rather than follow the intimidating tips on beauty and grooming in most of the women’s magazine today. We , south Indian women dread to read about botox and other such features on using heavy make-up, cosmetics, hair , skin and body care. Something simple is what we want. Congrats Vasundhra and Eve’s Times.

I work for an NGO and I truly appreciate your effort to spread information about HIV/AIDS . While there was much noise and controversial advertisements about it in the print, visual and audio media in the recent past, everything seems to be on a low key suddenly. This is a matter of concern because HIV/AIDS cannot be willed away by closing our eyes. It is important to continue to spread the message about this dreaded disease that has gripped our country mercilessly. I also heartily appreciate your publication’s effort to support the Positive Network for Women. It gives hope that media is not all about sensationalism and commercialism but there are a few who still care for the society. The story, “Ignited,” was apt and gives hope to children affected with HIV/AIDS. A good attempt.  Your editorial about Kausalya was superb. Indeed there are many unknown and low-profile people working for the betterment of the society and they do need to be honoured. Your last issue was wonderful.

I agree with Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’ s  article about stress. If one ponders about it, stress is all about attitude. If you decide not to get stressed out, you don’t . How we choose to live, happily or unhappily ultimately depends upon us. A very inspiring article by Sadhguru. His features are very contemporary and practical. It will  benefit all those who read the articles.

Your continuous write-up about the mobile phone was an eye-opener. I have taken cuttings and pinned them on our children’s room notice board so that everybody follows the tips. Good work!

I chanced to see the new version of Eve’s Times and was astounded with the changes in the tabloid. Now the size is impressive and so are the different articles in the sixteen huge pages. An ardent fan of Eve’s Times, I am confident, you will come out with many more interesting articles and features.  It is also heartening to see that there are new features such as the column by Karti Chidambaram and a lot of articles by youngsters.

Briefly, when Eve’s Times did not come, I was sad that such a fine publication has had to come to an end. I did not realize that the hibernation was for the better. I was mighty surprised to see Eve’s Times dangling proudly amidst all the other magazines in the news mart where I regularly pick up my quota of reading materials. And imagine my surprise to see more number of pages, in full colour and with more interesting features! Eve’s Times is worth every penny it is priced, because I am one who staunchly supports clean, good fun. Three Cheers to Eve’s Times!

I read Karti Chidambaram’s ‘You (th) are the Master of the Game.’   I am truly impressed with his ideas that reflect the better part of this generation’s way of thinking. Indeed, it is good to take up projects that are social in nature and at the same time, if once can earn a living, why not? Innovative and productive idea. Looking forward to more such thought-provoking features.

Since the new Eve’s Times hit the market I was slightly disappointed to see stars staring out of the huge first page. I thought that eventually, Eve’s Times too has taken the route toward glamorous and sensational reading. I bought a copy of 1 August issue and then your second issue with the intention of sending you a missile with all my rage pouring out. But when I read the features, I understood your clever strategy. Eve’s Times is eliciting social views from popular, young personalities, hitting two birds with one! Well, to my satisfaction, I did not notice any change in your stance. Waiting for more exciting features with bated breath!

Karti Chidambaram’s comparison of India with the majestic elephant has come out beautifully. He has evolved the beauty of our country and his impression that given the democratic approach that we have adopted, it makes things easier if we understand the   pace of our democracy appears to be easy to accept. Well, we Indians indeed tolerate a lot and we have to continue to do so!

Dear Madam,

I happened to pick up a copy from Mylapore. I found Eve’s Times very interesting. The contents are excellent. I shall be glad if you can arrange to enroll me for subscription. Thanking you,

A.B.Gurunath, Kodambakkam

I happened to see the Eve's Times  recently,. It was really informative, interesting and thought provoking, with a unique presentation style. I'd suggest to the editors to increase the frequency and add more such interesting features. I am glad that you have priced it because I always felt that it should not be given for free circulation. It's really worth paying for such a valuable newsmagazine.

Dear Madam,

I am a working woman and I picked up a copy of Eve’s Times in Ashok Nagar. I find that this is just the magazine the women of Chennai need to read- lot of information, advice from the experts in our city, which I feel match our culture and needs more than any other magazine. Can you increase the number of pages and add more useful features? If there is a special column for workingwomen on how to groom ourselves, quick food tips etc, it will be useful. All the best to Eve’s Times to grow in a big way!

Vasanthakumari, Ashok Nagar

Your letters/mails have been a great source of inspiration and help to us-Ed.

Dear Eve’s Times,

I look forward to Eve’s Times every fortnight- though it is a women’s magazine. We men are trying to understand the complexities of the modern woman-especial the Chennai woman who is a curious blend of the tradition and the modern. Through every page of Eve’s Times we are trying to unravel the intricacies that make up the psyche of the Chennai Woman. Keep it up! It will be a great help .. and your TeenMag is simply super! Can you add a few more pages to Teen Mag…. Something to satiate the needs of the Chennai Youth! May your fortnightly grow ceaselessly….. All the Best!

Umakanth, Mylapore

Thanks for your kind mail. While Eve’s Times indeed started as a weekly for women, now we have transformed to a lifestyle , family tabloid which offers something to both the genders and all age groups. Hope you like our new format. Ideas on features that might interest our readers are most welcome.  Ed

Dear Editor,

We are a group of college girls and we read Eve’s Times with great interest. We find it very different from the run-of-the-mill tabloids circulating in the city. We also enjoy reading TeenMag and the funky writings in there. We enjoy the editorials penned by Namrata. Way to go TeenMag and Eve’s Times
